It's A... Gender Reveal Party!

Our sweet friends Ben and Nicki are pregnant with their first baby and she asked me if I would host a gender reveal party for her.  I was thrilled and honored, and excited to plan a party like none I had ever hosted before.  We always liked not knowing ahead of time if we were having a boy or girl, but getting together with friends and family and all finding out at the same time is such a fun alternative!

Other than designing the invitation a couple of weeks ago, we did most of the planning over the course of just a few days, and then spent a couple of nights this past week putting the decorations together.  There were so many people here and I LOVED it!!  We have had lots of holidays and parties and get-togethers here, but this was definitely the most people that have ever been here at one time.  I can't think of a better reason to celebrate, or two people that deserve it more!

Found these at the dollar store - partying on a budget!

Food table - we asked guests to bring an appetizer to share.  On the front part of the table are pretzel rods dipped in white chocolate and sprinkled with pink and blue sugar.

I made pumpkin dip with apples and ginger snaps - I LOVE fall for all the pumpkin-inspired food and drinks!

Drink station - pink lemonade, sweet tea, decaf and regular coffee and coffee frappe.

 Me and the Momma-to-Be!

Framed sonogram pictures and a cute tally board painted by my neighbor Christy where guests voted via a pink or blue onesies made from scrapbook paper.  We decided at the last minute to put a sharpie out so people could write a note on them.  We also took "Team Blue" and "Team Pink" pictures with all the guests in their pink or blue attire.

Craft table and activities for the kids - baby bingo using fruit loops and a coloring sheet for them to draw what they think baby will look like!

Pink icing - IT'S A GIRL!!!!!  I told Nicki when I found out she was expecting that I thought it was a girl, but then changed my mind at the last minute and wore blue.  Always stick with your first instinct!  We are so thrilled for Ben and Nicki and Baby Zoe.  God has put such amazing friends in our life - we are very blessed!  Congratulations Ben and Nicki, you are going to be amazing parents!
