Our neighbors planned a costume party this year, the first one we have ever done. I am not really into costumes or dressing up, but Scott had a fabulous idea for his costume and I knew the kids would be excited to put costumes on. The day of the party, a friend of ours came by literally an hour before the party with a huge basket full of costumes she had found at her mom's house. I found a costume to wear and begrudgingly put it on. Scott's ensemble was a hit - he dressed as our neighbor Tim but didn't tell anyone ahead of time what he was doing. It was so fun to see everyone's reaction when he walked into the party. They all got it right away and thought it was so funny! Caleb came up with the hobo costume idea, Ella dressed as Rapunzel, Lillian was Princess Tiana, Jackson was Woody and Noah wore a cute costume Mima got him, either a dinosaur or dragon. There was tons of yummy food and a costume contest - Ella won for her age group! She actually got a cash prize and was so thrilled! Scott scored a close second in his age group. We had a great time and hope to do it again next year!
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? Micah 6:8
Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. Jeremiah 29:7
Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered. Proverbs 21:13
Stay-at-home mom of five amazing little blessings and wife to an incredible man... a family learning to live out the gospel in the inner-city neighborhood where we moved our family five years ago.
