Halloween Happenings

We had quite a busy day on Halloween. Caleb had a fall festival at his school that morning and everyone was wearing their costumes to class, so of course Ella wanted to put hers on when she saw Caleb wearing his. One of Caleb's friends let him wear an extra Transformers costume that he had, Ella wore a hula girl outfit and Lillian was a little fairy. Luckily the girls didn't mind hand-me-down costumes!

We dropped Caleb off at school and stayed for a little costume parade that all the kids do every year, then came back later in the morning to walk around with his class at the festival. Ella just jumped right in with all the little games and activities - you would have thought she was a student there, too!

Later that evening, there was an event called Trunk or Treat in the school parking lot where people park, decorate their trunks and hand out candy to all the little trick-or-treaters. We went with some friends from church and then walked around a little in their neighborhood, which happens to be right near where Trunk or Treat was. The kids had so much fun together (as did the grown-ups) and Ella had quite a little hula dance going by the end of the night. We headed back to our neighborhood to stop at our friends' house for some hot chocolate and more candy, and then called it a night.
I loved Halloween being on a Friday!! It was so nice to come home and get to hang out with the kids a little, not be so rushed to get them to bed on time. I have already eaten my weight in chocolate this morning - I have no will power when it comes to chocolate!
